Understorey: Airbrushing the EPA

Wednesday 8th October / presented by Elizabeth PO’ Adrian Glamorgan

Has the Environmental Protection Agency or the State Government been failing Western Australia?

Recent official findings concluded that many EPA Board processes involved multiple conflicts of interest.  This invalidates many significant Ministerial decisions, including controversial approvals for Roe 8 highway through Beeliar Wetlands, James Price Point, and the go-ahead for UWA to clear Underwood Avenue bushland.  Retrospective legislation being brought by Environmental Minister Albert Jacob will airbrush the unlawful decisions away.

But Understorey asks three leading environmental campaigners: how did we get to this point, and who now will protect the environment?
