Understorey: Can’t you hear the Atomic Thunder? (pt 1)

Wednesday 13th June / presented by Elizabeth PO’ Adrian Glamorgan

"The Day After" Trump and Kim Jong-un signed their historic denuclearisation agreement, Understorey offers an interview with Dr Liz Tynan, winner of the 2017 Prime Minister's Literary Award for "Atomic Thunder," to learn more about Montebello, Emu Field and Maralinga - and the danger of blind trust in nuclear secrets. Environmental damage and public health harm were the fruits of nuclear colonialism across the continent, including Western Australia, but especially wrought on the regions held by Aboriginal people in South Australia.  Uncle Glen Cooke and Uncle Kev Buzzacott tell of their own communities' experience under the mushroom clouds.
