Understorey: Horizons~Learning By Nature

Wednesday 22nd May / presented by Elizabeth PO’ Adrian Glamorgan

Understorey: Horizons is our autumn season of curated programs from the Understorey sound-rich back catalogue.  According to international studies Australia's education standards are in decline, notwithstanding our decade of national standards-testing like NAPLAN. Could part of the reason be a disconnect between the fluorescent classroom, and the loss of wild opportunities for learning outdoors? In 2017 education consultant Juliet Robertson, author of "Messy Maths" and "Dirty Teaching" took teachers for a workshop on nature play to find opportunities for re-engagement.  Adrian Glamorgan went along to meet Sammy Snake, make sticky circles, and hear from educators who are learning by nature.First broadcast 20 September, 2017.
