Understorey: Learning by Nature

Wednesday 20th September / presented by Elizabeth PO’ Adrian Glamorgan

According to international studies Australia's education standards are in decline, notwithstanding our decade of national standards-testing like NAPLAN. Could part of the reason be a disconnect between the fluorescent classroom, and the loss of wild opportunities for learning outdoors? Education consultant Juliet Robertson, author of "Messy Maths" and "Dirty Teaching" takes teachers for a workshop on nature play to find opportunities for re-engagement.  Adrian Glamorgan goes along to meet Sammy Snake, make sticky circles, and hear from educators who are learning by nature.
