Understorey: Poison Papers Neighbours

Wednesday 14th November / presented by Elizabeth PO’ Adrian Glamorgan

With the Poison Papers having highlighted corporate wrongdoings in the United States, local community campaigners point to local regulators failing to act on research about the harm of GMOs and pesticides, including glyphosate, and their use in Western Australia.   Understorey speaks with Janet Grogan (Foodwatch, GM Free WA), Jane Bremmer (Alliance for Clean Environment, National Toxics Network, and Zero Waste WA), and Alex Jones (Pesticide Action Group WA).   We also speak to Greens MLC, Diane Evers who triggered a Parliamentary Committee Inquiry into mechanisms for compensation for economic loss to farmers in Western Australia caused by contamination by genetically modified material.
