Unlabelled #1: Numero Group

Monday 19th October / presented by Coel Healy

Unlabelled is a monthly exploration of some of the world’s most culturally significant music labels. Beyond just releasing music, labels play an important part in the collection and curation of music. Labels are often key in finding, reissuing and preserving music that would otherwise be lost in the endless sea of new releases.

This week we look at Numero Group, who in 2003, began releasing all sorts of strange and otherwise unheard recordings from around the globe. Referring to themselves as an archival record label, Numero Group take pride in finding and reissuing audio that could only be described as cultural artefacts.

On this weeks episode of Unlabelled, Coel Healy speaks to Numero co-founder Rob Sevier about the inner workings of Numero Group and some of their more interesting releases.
