Unleash the WAAPA students!

Friday 13th December / presented by Bec Bowman

Unleash is a showcase of highly original, thought-provoking dance works choreographed by WAAPA’s graduating Dance students. The season will showcase ten short contemporary dance pieces set to imaginative soundscapes and music created by Composition and Music Tech students. The dances will be performed in the intimate setting of UWA’s Dolphin Theatre by students from across the WAAPA Dance program.

The student’s dance works encompass a range of themes, from playful comedic subjects to more serious social concerns. Estelle Brown’s piece The Aperture will examine transitional spaces beyond reality.

Estelle joined Bec on Artbeat, along with WAAPA Composition student Pete, and they talked all about Unleash. Pete shared about his Composition course, and Estelle told us about what it was like choreographing the piece. They both explained how important RTRFM is in providing exposure for emerging artists.
