VIDEO PREMIERE: Smithereens from Shimmergloom

Friday 16th February / posted by Liana Kelly

Smithereens is the first single from the highly anticipated debut album from Shimmergloom. Nominated for WAM song of the year 2017, Smithereens has been brought to life with a uniquely styled animation from the team at Redbird Creative.

The initial conceptual drawings were designed by former year 11 work experience student Rory Dalitz which due to their highly imaginative style, were picked up and developed by Aaron Welch and the rest of the team at Red Bird Creative. The music video has a warm nostalgia feel to it which is congruent with the 90’s style sensibilities that Shimmergloom’s music has become renowned for.

Produced and recorded by Perth’s own Andy Lawson at Debaser Studios, the first single gives us a small taste of how their style has developed since their last EP Frequencies collide (2015).

Smithereens released on independent record label Doghouse Records.
