Whale of a Time

Wednesday 31st August / presented by Tanya Bunter

Environmental activist group Sea Shepherd is preparing for a new whaling campaign in the Southern Ocean.

It will take to the seas this summer to target illegal operations by the Japanese Government.

Japan’s whaling program is controversial. In 2014 the International Court of Justice ruled its’ illegal and not for scientific purposes.

Despite this, the Japanese government has continued its operations in the Southern Ocean.

Fresh off the boat from a previous expedition in the Great Australian Bight, Sea Shepherd’s Tim Watters and Eliza Muirhead Tanya to talk about their work.
