What Just Happened?

As the polls in the US Presidential election closed yesterday morning, Australians pounded the refresh button the browsers, as pollsters’ predictions swung from Hillary Clinton to Donald Trump.

By the afternoon, it was apparent Trump had been elected the 45th President of the United States, and Hillary Clinton conceded the election overnight.

The Chaser’s US correspondent Charles Firth has been on the ground in the US for the past several months covering the election. He called into Breakfast with Caitlin to break down some of his observations over the course of the campaign and figure out how this happened.
