Winners of the Fogarty Literary Award Announced

This year's winner for the Fogarty Literary Award was announced last week - and claiming the major prize was Rebecca Higgie!

Out of 64 submissions Rebecca’s manuscript The History of Mischief was chosen, and in addition to winning $20,000 in prize money she’s also secured a publishing contract with Fremantle Press!

Congratulations is also in order for Emma Young and Michael Burrows! Who were also both offered publishing contracts for their manuscripts The Last Bookstore and Where the Line Breaks after Fremantle Press CEO Jane Fraser said the quality of the manuscripts submitted was so high more than one contract has to be awarded.

The Fogarty Literary award is a local award competition bestowed upon for young West Australian authors aged between 18 and 35.

Rebecca, Emma and Michael joined the studio last Friday to talk about their winning manuscripts. Congratulations guys!!
