“You yell shark, we got a panic on our hands on the fourth of July.”

Wednesday 17th June / presented by Caitlin Nienaber

It is forty years since the residents of Amity Island were terrorised by an enormous great white shark with a taste for human blood.

This weekend Steven Spielberg’s Jaws celebrates its fourth decade after setting the standard for the summer horror blockbuster and ruining the beach for everyone.

The story behind the movie is even more interesting than the plot itself as rough seas, flared tempers and robotic shark break-downs hampered filming.

Film critic and writer Travis Johnson joined Breakfast with Caitlin to look back on the legacy of Jaws.
