Say hello to

Aaron M

Hi there Legends! I’ve been in Perth for the last 10 years and been lucky enough to be a presenter on Looney Choons for the last 8! I’m all about promoting new local talent so hit me up for a guest slot on Looney Choons!

About

Get to know Aaron M

Since I was in my teens I’ve been extremely passionate about the underground club scene, my roots came from progressive house and trance originally, growing up in the UK I was regularly going to Godskitchen, Gatecrasher, Wildchild, The Gallery among others and being massively influenced by artists such as Marco V and the Dj sets of Carl Cox & Eddie Halliwell, there slowly became more Techno in my sets than any other genre and although it could still be a stretch to claim to be a Techno DJ, it’s where my passion for music lies and also the music I like to produce.

The main reason I love presenting on RTR is to help grow the music scene here in Perth. It can be difficult to be taken serrated or get a gig and I like to take a back seat as far as the DJing is concerned and allow the guests on the show get an opportunity to talk about their music and play the styles that they are passionate about. It’s a huge privelege to host the show and connect people to such a thriving scene and promote healthy support for new and aspiring DJs and producers & promoters

Outside of the RTR walls I play and produce a style of Techno that I’m extremely passionate about, I’m very fortunate to have played at clubs and festivals across almost every state in Australia.

I am also the proud father of the most amazing son, Henry who has been the most influential person in my life and our relationship is my greatest asset, achievement and ever evolving project. He is a little superstar

How did you become involved in the station?

I first became involved in the station when I met Legendary Looney Choons presenter Ben10.
Our first encounter was when he took over from me at Twisted Jah’s – Twisted Arcade which was my very first gig in Australia.
He invited me on the show as a guest and we ended up hosting Looney Choons together for over 3 years and i’m proud that Ben is one of my best friends

Tell us about your most memorable gig, either attending or playing at?

My most memorable gig was taking over from Pig & Dan @ Geisha. For me Geisha will always be the most iconic institute for Dance Music in Perth and with the new layout its possble to create an intense but also very intimate vibe and sometimes all elements just come together like they did that night

What is your favourite show (other than your own) on RTRFM?
