We've recently changed the audio format for our live stream in order to improve the quality and to support more devices and services such as iHeartRadio.
Unfortunately, this means we can no longer support Internet Explorer for listening to our live stream as it does not support the new format. Please see our Streaming Guide for alternative ways to listen to our live stream on your computer, mobile or smart speaker devices.
Sorry for any inconvenience this may cause!
RTRFM is a listener-supported, volunteer-based not-for-profit radio station. We have a team of 6 staff members and over 300 volunteers that make this station go around.
Our presenters, all 350 of them, do it for nothing. They give up their time and quite often their own money to bring you RTRFM 24/7 365 days a year. We also have close to 50 office volunteers that help with everything from receptionist duties, maintaining the CD music library, editing online stories, editing radio pieces, Assistant Producing of The Mag/ Artbeat show.
Complete the Volunteering Form and our Operations and Volunteer Manager Chris will be in contact. Select one of the options. Please note you may not be placed into your selected area.
The qualities that are expected of RTRFM Office Volunteers include; punctuality, reliability, work autonomously, and to work in a team environment.
This is because RTRFM relies heavily on the contribution the Volunteers make to the organisation. Without these elements the organisation will not function to the capacity that is expected.
The Office Volunteers that work at RTRFM have been selected due to the potential and actual capacities that they have shown in their induction.
All volunteers must adhere to the RTRFM Code of Conduct – RTRFM Policy 001 – Code of Conduct
Breaches of the code during your volunteering time will result in being removed as a volunteer.
Volunteers are also place on a six month time period. At the end of that time we may ask you to end you period of volunteering for others to gain opportunities.
