Aussie surfing legend Jodie Cooper joins Breakfast on International Women’s Day to reflect on her career and new film Girls Can’t Surf

Jodie Cooper, Pam Burridge, Wendy Botha and Pauline Menczer. All names you may or may not recognise, but all women who played such an important part in the advancement of women in professional sport.

These four women, along with a handful more, form the central focus of Girls Can’t Surf, a new film highlighting the revolution of female pro surfing, and the women responsible for the change in tides.

Jodie Cooper is regarded as one of the most formidable surfers in the history of the sport. The Western Australian local joined Breakfast with Taylah from her hometown in Albany to reflect on a career of cultural change.

Girls Can’t Surf will be in cinemas from March 11.
