Perth Festival’s Good Film Club review Gagarine on Breakfast

The Good Film Club, a group of young people aged 16-26 years old, are invited to review the films at Lotterywest Film Season as part of Perth Festival in 2021.

The club meet to discuss the films every week, and they’ve extended the invitation to share thoughts with Breakfast with Taylah.

GFC member Cameron Green pops in to discuss French film Gagarine, which was shot during the actual demolition of Cite Gagarine, a French housing project originally used as a base for the French Communist Party in the 1970s. It’s now Yuri’s home and it’s going to be demolished, so Yuri embarks on a mission to save it and the community contained in it, by transforming it into his own ‘starship.’

Gagarine is showing at UWA Somerville Auditorium until Sunday March 21. Tickets from Perth Festival website.
