Kimberley Pearl Farmer Wins Industry Award

The Kondinin Group and ABC Rural Australian Farmer of the Year Awards are designed to celebrate and applaud the outstanding achievements of those making a significant contribution to Australian Agriculture.

The 2021 award has gone to 3rd generation pearl farmer, James Brown from the Kimberley region. The independent judging panel gave the award to the Kimberley farmer to congratulate his resilience and innovation in the pearling industry through difficult times.

The station was fortunate enough to be joined by James to chat about the award, the innovation he brought to his family’s Cygnet Bay Pearl Farm, and speculate on the future of the Australian pearling industry.
