For a globe-traversing Friday Mix this week we welcome JXNIOR.
This mix showcases sounds from the southern region of Africa specifically known as ‘Amapiano’.
Carried by silky smooth chords and melodies and driven by dark and moody drum patterns, it becomes almost impossible to not dance to this style of music.
Amapiano personally means a huge amount to me as I’ve found it’s finally started making an appearance in more and more spheres within the electronic music scene here in Perth.
It makes me happy to see a style of music travel across the globe, in a similar way that I have, and make its impact.
