Revolutionary Micro Implant To Treat Pancreatic Cancer

New scientific research has surfaced that explores the effectiveness of a revolutionary surgical micro implant to treat Pancreatic Cancer.

From what started as a joint collaboration effort between Swinburne University, the University of Wollongong and The Aikenhead Centre for Medical Discovery (ACMD), development surrounding the implant could be a potential game-changer in creating safe and effective surgical outcomes for patients suffering from the notoriously difficult disease to treat.

Furthermore, the usage of the implant will enable surgeons to remove pancreatic cancer tumours from patients where previously not possible – henceforth leading to improvement of patient survival rates.

On The Record presenter Madeleine Lombardi is joined in the studio with Swinburne’s Simon Moulton, who is a Professor of Biomedical Electromaterials Sciences and ACMD Project Leader.

Together they converse in discussion over the issues surrounding the difficulties of treating Pancreatic Cancer, including how the new treatment will operate, and whether there have been any indications for the success rate of administering the treatment to patients.
