Promising cancer research study to come out of ECU!

On the Record with Fiona Bartholomaeus, caught up with Professor Robert Newton from Edith Cowan University regarding the exciting new cancer research that has been looking into exercise and how it can help either stop or slow cancer cell growth. Newton explains that the research shows some of the proteins released during exercise can suppress tumour growth and actively cancerous cells.

It has widely accepted that exercise and those who are physically active prolongs life, including those who suffer from cancer. This study aimed to understand the mechanisms behind how exercise is able to stop or slow down the progression of cancers. With the hopes for exercise to be prescribed more accurately as well as being able to potentially develop new drug therapies in the future.
