The Morrison Government making voting harder?

Today On The Record, Maddie Lombardi talks to Alice Dury a Senior Lawyer from the Human Rights Law Centre about the proposed laws from the Morrison Government requiring people to provide identification when voting in a federal election.

The Human Rights Law Centre says this will create new and unnecessary barriers that undermine the right to vote for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and people experiencing homelessness.

Rather than creating more barriers for voting the government should be improving voter rights, more investment especially into rural communities and accessibility of language for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people as well as systemic reforms.
