Perth Finalists Representing At Women Of The Future Awards
Two Perth women, Martina Ucnikova and Jessica Smith, have been announced as finalists in The Australian Women’s Weekly Women of the Future Awards.
While the overall winner will be announced on 1 December, RTRFM took some time to discover more of their initiative, formerly referred to as She Runs.
The organisation is a not-for-profit that helps and supports women across Western Australia learn the practical skills and build networks necessary to run their own campaigns for change, along with women’s political and civic participation through the power of education and connection.
On The Record presenter G*Rey took the opportunity to catch up and chat with both finalists, where together they discuss how to prevent women from remaining as the female token in political battles, including the most common obstacles and challenges most women come across when they are thinking of engaging in politics, and whether real change is evident in light of the next Federal Elections in 2022.
