RTRFM’s Tom Reynolds sits down with Curtin Extremism Research Network co-director Dr Ben Rich to discuss how how and what the new research programs to uncover extremist ideology works and permeates throughout societies in a COVID-19 isolation setting.

Ben Rich describes how American politics and extreme points of view has bled in to Australian politics. After Donald Trump became President we began to see some real movement from extremest groups and local militia as well as social media influence has made its way in to Australia’s far right community.

Tom Reynolds and Dr Ben Rich talk through some of these extremist groups and how their influence is being expanded by influencing people through social media as well as selecting disaffected people that are easy to influence to spread their ideology.
