RTRFM Feature: Loose Fit’s Social Graces

Taking cues cues from some of the more adventurous groups from the 70s/80s post-punk and No Wave scenes that eschewed the blueprint and started looking to funk, dub and elsewhere, Sydney/Gadigal Country band Loose Fit have released their debut long player Social Graces.

11 tracks of rhythmically-taut, anxiety-driven post-punk featuring the distinctive vocal chants of singer and sax player Anna Langdon (she doesn’t do both at once) and biting social commentary – Social Graces is a journey through familiar deeply human themes as well as sharp observations of contemporary absurdity.

Drivetime’s Doug Swamp chats to the band’s lead singer Anna Langdon about her musical influences, playing the album live and more. He starts out asking how the band first met each each – listen in below.
