The automated bots improving health care outcomes

Swinburne University has recently made the announcement of a leap forward in the ability of robots to manipulate soft deformable objects. Researchers have developed a robot arm to automate the blood donation pack folding process.

The technology is expected to pave the way for automated processes not only in health care but in agriculture and food processing.

Project lead and Deputy Director of Swinburne Factory of the Future Dr Shanti Krishnan spoke with Fiona Bartholomaeus for On the Record to unpack the research.
