Jilya World Suicide Prevention Day Gala

The Westerman Jilya Institute is set to host Jilya Gala, a dinner and night of music to commemorate and raise awareness for World Suicide Prevention Day on September 10.

Jilya was created in response to 13 deaths of Aboriginal people in the Kimberley which formed the basis of the 2019 Fogliani Coronial Inquiry. These deaths compelled Dr Tracy Westerman AM to do something to support improved access to culturally and clinically complex mental health services.

Chief operating officer Stuart McCleod joined Bec Bowman for Arbeat to share more about the event at Winthrop Hall, UWA.
