We’ve been reporting on climate change for literally 100 years … has anything changed?

On August 14 1912, a small New Zealand newspaper published a short article announcing global coal usage was affecting our planet’s temperature.

The piece, now 110 year old, warned of the dangers of emitting too much carbon into the atmosphere and is known as one of the first recorded climate science stories from the media.

So why are we still waiting for action to be taken on climate action and have perceptions changed since then?

Breakfast with Taylah spoke with University of Melbourne lecturer in Climate Science Communication Dr Linden Ashcroft to find out more.
