“Women’s rights are human rights”: Perth protest supports women of Iran

Last month, the killing of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini in police custody over the incorrect wearing of her Hijab sparked protests across Iran.

The incident marks more than 40 years of activism across the country over the treatment of women and this weekend Perth will stand in solidarity with the women of Iran as part of a global movement for immediate and decisive action against gendered violence.

Organiser Persia Bahmani joined Emily Jane on Breakfast with Taylah to chat about the movement and how people can join the peaceful rally this Saturday 22 October in Forrest Chase.
