Fremantle author and journalist Molly Schmidt has won the 2022 City of Fremantle Hungerford Award for her manuscript Salt River Road, a story that dives deep into the complexity of family and community relationships.

Informed by the knowledge and wisdom of Traditional Owners in the Great Southern, Salt River Road is set to be a poignant example of the possibilities of cross-cultural collaboration.
