Professor Andrew Blakers, Emeritus Professor at The Australian National University’s College of Engineering, Computing and Cybernetics and his colleagues, Professor Green, Dr Wang and Dr Zhao, has been awarded prestigious Queen Elizabeth Prize in Engineering for the invention and development of Passivated Emitter and Rear Cell solar technology … or PERC.

PERC technology is an innovation in solar energy that is easily manufactured and highly efficient, and is now the most widely used cell in solar panels, accounting for almost 90% of the global solar cells market.
