Study finds the best plants and bee hotels for boosting urban bee numbers

A new study from Curtin University has found the presence of plants and bee hotels help boost urban bee numbers, after an unfortunate decline in the numbers over the years.

The study focussed on 14 sites across the Perth metropolitan area, including bushland remnants and homes.

Dr Kit Prendergast from the Curtin School of Molecular and Life Sciences discusses the importance of bees, bee hotels and native flowers with Fiona Bartholomaeus for On The Record and how you can implement the findings in your own garden.
