(Re) Borrowing Arrows with Thatched Boats

How often do you use Chinese idioms day to day?

Featuring work from Patricia Amorim, Shanti Gelmi, Deborah Worthy-Collins and Tami Xiang (Re) Borrowing Arrows with Thatched Boats is an art exhibition about the Chinese idiom or chengyu “草船借箭” (cǎo chuán jiè jiàn).

The expression has been used for centuries throughout culture, philosophy and history, with artists using this idea to explore their histories, experiences and memories.

Curator Desmond Mah joins Bec Bowman for Artbeat to discuss the cultural significance of the exhibition, showing at Moores Contemporary Art Space.
