FIFA-fever proof of appetite for women’s sports: Interview with Dr. Kasey Symons

2.16 million Aussies tuned in to the FIFA Women’s World Cup to watch the Matildas take on Canada last Monday, making it Channel 7’s most watched show of the year.

The fervour for this year’s tournament has seemingly disproved the commonly held belief that women’s sports are a niche interest with a limited audience.

Joining us today is Dr Kasey Symons, Research Fellow in the Sport Innovation Research Group at Swinburne University,  to discuss the World Cup, and how broadcasters can take an active role in driving up interest and engagement in women’s sports.
