In 1996, the AWESOME Festival was created and launched by Barking Gecko Theatre Company at the Subiaco Arts Centre. Their mission; to create a space for children, their families and their educators to connect with the arts and creative learning.

“The AWESOME International Arts Festival for Bright Young Things (the AWESOME Festival) is presented annually in the Perth Cultural Centre. The Festival showcases a spectacular array of events including theatre, creative workshops, ballet, music, exhibitions and a whole range of free activities! AWESOME is committed to presenting high-quality, layered programming for children aged 0 – 12 and their families.”
