Sheiks, Fakes, and Cameleers at SLWA

A new exhibition titled Sheiks, Fakes and Cameleers is celebrating the stories, contributions and legacies of the outback Cameleers who arrived in WA 150 years ago. The exhibition is being held by The State Library of Western Australia, and includes in-depth histories of these diverse communities as well as individual and familial stories, while also dispelling assumptions and stereotypes about the Cameleers.

Jeff Bullen chats with Rita Alfred-Saggar, Curator and Researcher of the exhibition, and Tarun Singh, researcher and panelist for Thursday’s State Library conversation about their upcoming exhibition Sheiks, Fakes, and Cameleers.
