Perth’s first-ever Disability Pride Festival!

Disability Pride Month will be celebrated this month at Perth’s first-ever Disability Pride Festival, a groundbreaking event that aims to celebrate and amplify the voices, culture, and contributions of Disabled people.

This free event will feature disabled artists, activists, and musicians, with art exhibitions, disabled creators markets, food, craft and movement activities and panels.

The Disability Pride Festival will take place both online and at Edith Cowan University (Mt Lawley Campus) on July, 27.

Isabella Choate is a living experience advocate, passionate about creating spaces for intersectional voices to be heard and celebrated.

She uses her award money from WA Young Person of the Year 2023 to fund The Disability Pride Festival 2024.

Bec Bowman took the opportunity to catch up and chat with the Founder of The Disability Pride Festival, Isabella Choate on Artbeat.
