AGWA presents ‘Ayoung Kim | Screening & Conversation’
Ayoung Kim is a multimedia artist using CGI, live-action footage and game engines to create a speculative multiverse that blurs the boundaries between space, time and the self.
Ayoung Kim graduated with a MFA austrfrom Chelsea College of Arts, London in 2010. Since then, Ayoung has produced several solo exhibitions in Korea and oversea (Seoul, Tokyo, Paris and Berlin).
“The speculative fictional world of Ayoung Kim is a pathway for the artist to re-recognise reality, reveal critical thoughts, and imagine a futuristic vision”, says ACMI (Australian Centre for the Moving Image).
The Art Gallery of Western Australia’s (AGWA) will be presenting ‘Ayoung Kim | Screening & Conversation‘, a selection of three video works by Ayoung Kim (Petrogenesis, Petra Genetrix 2019/2021 – Porosity Valley 2: Tricksters’ Plot 2019 – Delivery Dancer’s Sphere 2022) to stimulate the audiences imagination and compel viewers to question the ‘truths’ of this world.
