Scott Price wins the City of South Perth’s 2024 Emerging Artist Award

The City of South Perth held its highly anticipated 2024 Emerging Artist Award ceremony on October, 17.

The ceremony showcases the best of Western Australia’s emerging artistic talent.

Boorloo based artist, Scott Price won the ‘2024 Emerging Artist Award’ for his site-specific piece: ‘Radial mapping of seasonal pool furthest inland extending from Avon River to Walyunga Pool, March-April 2024’.

“To make his winning artwork he went to Walyunga National Park and immersed himself and the paper it is made of in the environment as a way to collaborate, not dominate or destroy, the ecology of the area.”

As the winner of the ‘2024 Emerging Artist Award’, Scott received the $5,000 major prize and a solo exhibition opportunity.

The 2024 Emerging Artist Exhibition is available to view from October, 18 to October, 26 at South Perth Community Hall.
