Yikes & DJ PGZ leave an indelible mark on dance music with Come Round EP

Lights flicker, subwoofers pulse and sweat drips from artfully contorted bodies. Come Round, the new split EP from Boorloo-based Yikes and Naarm-based DJ PGZ soundtracks the night. The duo’s seven track release is a treasure trove of underground club gems that blend techno, bass and break beat in a robust collaboration that includes the pair remixing each other’s tracks.

PGZ, a Gunai/Kurnai and Yorta Yorta artist describes the EP as “an east meets west blackfulla dance record” that came about after he and Yikes, a Wongutha producer, found themselves “yarning at one of the rare moments [they had] to hang together IRL.”
