When we first met, Verity would always request The Knife at the club I DJ’d at, so I started preemptively playing them whenever I saw her arrive as a kind of “hey I see you” across the dancefloor. She introduced me to Fever Ray, the solo project of Karin from The Knife, and whenever I hear this song it brings me joy and reminds me of that feeling of excitement seeing her across the room. In particular the line “I played something catchy, you leaned forward and kissed me” (cheesy literal meaning lol I know).
