The reality is Australia is experiencing a youth homelessness crisis

Wednesday, 16TH of April is Youth Homelessness Matters Day, a national day that aims to raise awareness about child and youth homelessness.
Between 2023 and 2024, 43,000 young people and children under the age of 25 presented on their own to a specialist homeless service, with many more not reaching out to get the help or assistance they need. It’s a serious issue and one that we need to improve and quickly.

On The Record’s Fiona Bartholomaeus was joined by YACWA’s Youth Homelessness Advisory Council Coordinator, Bella Jia and Sully, a young person who has experienced homelessness and committee member.
