Bookclub with Danielle Raffaele

Western Sydney author Natalia Figueroa Barroso was hard pressed to find a novel about Uruguayan stories in Australian literature so she decided to write her own.

Hailstones Fell Without Rain is a pacy, multigenerational story about three working class women, moving across time and place from Western Sydney to Uruguay and back again; uncovering buried secrets, family trauma and stories of political turmoil in 20th century Latin America.

RTRFMs Danielle Raffaele spoke with Natalia about her debut work of fiction and the social, cultural and political backdrop against which the novel is set.
