Yasamin Khadembashi on Dreaming in Farsi

With 2026 rapidly approaching, we can now start to look forward to the variety of exciting arts events being held in the new year.

This includes the debut solo exhibition from multidisciplinary artist Yasamin Khadembashi, Dreaming in Farsi, an artistic exploration of migration, memory, and cultural resistance based on Khadembashi’s own living between worlds as a queer Iranian-Australian.

Yasamin Khadembashi joined Bec Bowman on Artbeat to discuss her recent residency at Fremantle Arts Centre, experimental with different materials in her work, and using her art and upcoming exhibition to celebrate intersecting marginalised cultures.

Dreaming in Farsi will run from 16 – 31 January 2026 at the PS Art Space in Fremantle.
