Could your tattoo be poisonous?

Tattoos are very popular in Australia, with around 30% of adults having one. For many years there has been debate around the ramifications of tattoos on health and wellbeing. Regarding this, a new study surrounding the conversation of tattoo ink contents found that carcinogenic chemicals and toxic metals were detected in tattoo ink sold in Australia, such as lead and arsenic, which means that many Australian tattoos would fail the more stringent European safety standards.
