Applications open for City of Vincent’s Film Project

Applications are now open for the City of Vincent Film Project for emerging filmmakers!

In partnership with Revelation Perth International Film Festival (PIFF), Vincent’s Film Project provides early-career filmmakers with the opportunity, support and funding to make a non-fiction, short film that showcases their talents. The project aims to highlight local City of Vincent stories, characters and urban legends in creative ways, RTR’s very own Rok Riley has been the subject of a film!

Now in the project’s tenth year of partnership with Revelation PIFF, grant recipients are provided with mentorship, $8,500 cash funding and $1,000 in-kind camera equipment from Perth’s rental company Raz Studios. Support is also provided from Halo Films with access to the cinema and associated equipment. The resulting films will premier in July 2027 at the Revelation PIFF at Luna Cinemas, Leederville.

The City of Vincent’ Senior Place Planner Lauren Formentin and the Film Project’s Executive Producer Keith Smith from PIFF, alongside filmmakers and 2026 Recipients Saskia Glass and Aron Attiwell, joined Pam Boland on Breakfast to discuss the motivation behind the project, application requirements, and how the project supported Glass and Attiwell with their film, “In a Sentimental Mood”, centered on the Ellington Jazz Club.

Applications for the 2027 City of Vincent Film Project are now open until 23 November. More information is available here, including on the upcoming screening of previous City of Vincent Film Project winners on 15 October, and an Information Session and Workshop on 25 October.
