Distant Murmurs 2016

In conjunction with Rosemount Hotel and Cool Perth Nights, RTRFM’s local music festival DISTANT MURMURS returns for its second iteration in 2016, bringing the cream of the crop of local music to the Rosemount on Saturday January 16.

Taking place all day and night across three stages – 459 Bar, the Beer Garden and the Rosie’s main room – Distant Murmurs promises an eclectic lineup of stellar locals for all musical palettes.

Soak up the sun with synths, beats and blips in the beer garden with live sets from Makee, Erasers, Bahasa Malay, Original Past Life, Atripat, Phil Stroud and Diger Rokwell & Friends, plus DJ sets from Andrew Sinclair, Craig Hollywood and The Whipcracker.

If you’re looking for something weird and cosy, pop into 459 Bar for an intimate and confronting array of instrumental doom, lo-fi punk and folk oddities from Regular Boys, Filthy Apes, Mining Tax, Alzabo and Kitchen People.

And on the main stage, feast on a smorgasbord of psychedelia, garage weirdness and ambient odysseys from Hamjam, Shy Panther, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Salary, Ah Trees, Segue Safari and Pool Boy.

Distant Murmurs is the best way to spend a summer Saturday afternoon, immersed in tunes from the present and future of Perth’s music landscape.
