RTRFM’S ICONIC FULL FREQUENCY TURNS 30 WITH A FREE ALL-DAY DANCE PARTY

Perth’s first peak-hour dance music show, Full Frequency, celebrates 30 years on RTRFM with a free all-day party at The Leadlight on Saturday 30 November.

Starting in 1995 and thriving for three decades on The Sound Alternative, Full Frequency is an iconic and foundational part of our local dance music scene.

Beginning as a segment during Drivetime in 1994–back when RTRFM broadcast from the grounds of UWA–it was soon given the coveted 3 to 5pm slot every Monday to Friday on 92.1FM. But what was once a controversial interruption to listeners’ commutes is now an essential part of our weekdays, and to this day, there is a feverish devotion to Full Freq and its roster of hosts. Some of the finest DJs to call Boorloo home have had the honour of spinning the decks during Full Freq over the past 30 years, so join us as we pay tribute from 2pm on Saturday 30 November at The Leadlight.

Entry is free, with sets from Monday’s Micah & Mittens, Tuesday’s Allstate, Wednesday’s Dart, Thursday’s Nina BC, and Friday’s Nafta, Yikes & Rok Riley all day and night in the courtyard, alongside special guests.

Shelter Brewing and Vino Volta will provide the drinks, with all proceeds from their sale donated to RTRFM.

This event takes place on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar and we pay our respects to Noongar elders past, present and emerging. We acknowledge the importance of art and culture in First Nations history and are deeply grateful to create and share on this land.
