What to expect

THE LINE-UP FOR BOORLOO’S FAVOURITE DAY OF MUSIC: RTRFM’s IN THE PINES ON SUNDAY 13 APRIL.

The music experts at RTRFM have handpicked twenty amazing local acts to play the iconic annual fundraiser In the Pines on Sunday 13 April.

Returning for its 32nd consecutive year in the idyllic surrounds of UWA’s Somerville Auditorium, In the Pines is the most important day of the year for any self-respecting music lover in Boorloo.

Twenty of the state’s best loved artists—including the established and the emerging—will play across two stages inside Somerville. Join us to witness this annual snapshot of Western Australian music, with acts including:

Airline Food // Bigardoo feat Cozza Emcee // The Bures Band // Front Yard Horse //
Gap Year // Ghoulies // Gloam // Helen Townsend // Holli Scott // Jacob Diamond // Kankawa Nagarra // King Ibis // Lloyd and the Leftovers // Lonesome Dove // Mali Jo$e // Nika Mo // Noah Dillon // Outcome Unknown presents The Definitives // Scratching // Yomi Ship

In The Pines is a celebration of local music, bringing together some of the best talent from our town and sharing it with the people of Perth for one amazing day and night. The event also raises essential funds for RTRFM, allowing the not-for-profit community station to keep platforming local arts and culture for another year.

In the Pines 2025 brings you some of the state’s most promising new acts, including Bigardoo feat Cozza Emcee, Gloam, Front Yard Horse and Lloyd and the Leftovers, plus longtime faves Gap Year, King Ibis, Noah Dillon, Holli Scott and Airline Food.

We get a bit loud with Yomi Ship, Lonesome Dove and Ghoulies, while making time to get a little experimental and ambient with Outcome Unknown presents The Definitives, Scratching, Kankawa Nagarra and Nika Mo.

And we go large with Mali Jo$e, The Bures Band, Helen Townsend and Jacob Diamond.

In The Pines is the perfect snapshot of WA music over the last year, but it’s more than simply a day of music. There’ll be food trucks and coffee from George’s Kebabs, Osaka Okonomiyaki, Charlie’s Pizza and The Kelley Jane as well as drinks from Whitelakes Brewing Co, Shelter Brewing, Vino Volta, Whipper Snapper, Kimberley Rum Company and Little Things Gin.

In 2025 we welcome back our sensory zone in collaboration with Enable WA supported by Plico; a space for neurodivergent punters and those who need a break from the noise to chill out.

With 10 hours of local music in the stunning and serene surrounds of Somerville, In The Pines 2025 is the perfect place to picnic with friends, take in some of Perth’s exceptional musical talent and enjoy the party!

We’ll be broadcasting all the happenings live on your radio from 11:30am – 10pm at 92.1FM, and on digital and online at rtrfm.com.au.

Kids under 12 are free. Kids between 12 – 18 must buy a ticket and be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Gold Subscribers to RTRFM enter free; you can grab your ticket via Oztix using the code on your Gold Card. Companion Card holders can also enter free. RTRFM acknowledges that this event and all our activities take place on Whadjuk Noongar Boodjar, where sovereignty was never ceded.

We pay our respects to elders past and present, as well as the next generation’s emerging leaders, and commit to celebrating their art, culture and resilience through our programming.

In The Pines is brought to you by major sponsors City of Perth and Plico.

And supported by Enable WA, Whitelakes Brewing Co, Shelter Brewing Co, CCA Productions, Whipper Snapper Distillery, Vino Volta, Great Northern Distillery, Little Things Gin and Beerfarm.

SAFETY AND ACCESSIBILITY

Sensory Space thanks to Enable WA and Plico:

This is a space set up in the art garden of UWA, adjacent to Riley Oval. The space is to the right as you are leaving Somerville Auditorium past the two large buildings (Dolphin and Octagon Theatre) on the left hand side.

You can also access that space via a wristband-only entrance and exit adjacent to Riley Oval on the far side of Somerville Auditorium.

The Sensory Space is a place for those that need a break from any noise or the event as a whole. A place to relax and catch yourself before getting back to enjoy the music. For those who are neurodivergent, but also for everyone.

Companion Card holders/accessibility:

Those with Companion Cards can enter for free. In the Pines is wheelchair accessible. You can also receive support from our Pines Pals, who will be on hand to assist anyone who needs some extra help. Look out for the orange hi-vis vest and let them know if you need anything.
