PERTH RECLINK COMMUNITY CUP MOVE NORTH AS WE TAKE OVER LEEDERVILLE OVAL FOR THE NINTH ADDITION
The Perth leg of the Reclink Community Cup will be held new venue Leederville Oval for its ninth year in WA on Sunday October 6 from 12pm.
This head-to-head Aussie rules match between media and arts organisation personalities Newshounds and local musicians Bandgropers is a crucial fundraising event for Reclink Australia (WA).
A cultural collision of music and sport, the Perth Reclink Community Cup boasts an electrifying musical line-up for 2024 with Split Seconds, Sgt Hulka and Stack of Bibles in the Subiaco Football Club function room and a halftime show from Axel Carrington as he does his urban cowboy takes on classic footy songs.
The Bandgropers, boast players from Odlaw, Jocelyn’s Baby, Gap Year, Bribes, Nervous and Airline Food plus a host of other local bands. The Newshounds feature players from RTRFM, ABC Perth, The West Australian, WA Government and local council members.
“The Reclink Community Cup is a special and unique day where footy and music come together for everyone to enjoy. The support from our partners, sponsors, football and music industry as well as the wider community is amazing and is the reason why we are able hold the event year after year” said Dave Wells, Reclink Australia CEO.
This year we bring you more kid’s activities with Spare Parts Puppet Theatre, Swan Valley Animal Farm, Circus WA, mini golf, footy clinics and face painting as well as a Under 14’s Colts Grand Final as a curtain raiser.
Come for the fun footy between Newshounds vs Bandgropers and stay for live music, relaxed atmosphere that firmly emphasises love, team spirit and community.
Proceeds from this fundraising event go to Reclink Australia’s life-changing programs. Reclink’s structured sport and recreation programs improve life outcomes for those experiencing mental illness, family violence, homelessness, people with disabilities, Aboriginal people, CaLD people, at-risk youth and more.
It’s never been easier to make a difference, just relax and enjoy family entertainment, live music and of course the big game at Leederville Oval on October 6, bouncedown at 2pm, it’s sure to be a fun day out where community is the winner!
