Perth Reclink Community Cup 2026

Music, footy and community collide as Perth’s iconic Reclink Community Cup returns.

Perth, WA: The much-loved Reclink Community Cup will descend on Menzies Park, Mount Hawthorn, Saturday 3 October 2026. This family-friendly event merges footy with music to raise vital funds for Reclink Australia, a charity with a vision for a future where sport and recreation is accessible to all and recognised as an essential service for community health.

Now in its 11th year, the annual charity match sees the Newshounds (comprising of RTRFM presenters, media, government workers and MP Patrick Gorman and MP Matt Keogh) and the reigning champions, the Bandgropers (featuring members from The Bures Band, Ursula, Skortz, and more) go head to head in a battle of the ages.

Alongside the footy catch live music before the game, at halftime and post with sets from Airline Food, Lachy John (Solo), Lake Mammoth and Skortz.

This year ENTRY IS FREE but bring a camper chair as we play on a suburban ground. Donations to Reclink Australia are encouraged and you can register your interest and make a donation at communitycup.com.au. 

Bring your own camp chair or picnic rug to watch all the action.

While there you can also donate to your favourite player and team, with the team that generates the most donations getting a small advantage mid-game. What could it be?

The Community Cup is Reclink WA’s largest annual fundraiser, supporting the organisation’s nationwide sport, and recreation programs. These programs aim to improve physical health, mental wellbeing and social connection for people facing serious life challenges.

Reclink Australia CEO Dave Wells said the event continues to demonstrate the important role sport and community events play in addressing social exclusion.

“Seeing the music community come together is a reminder that everyone deserves a team to belong to, and the opportunity to participate. Sport can do more than provide enjoyment. It can change lives. The result: social inclusion, and improved mental and physical health for those who need it most. We want Australians to see sport and recreation as an essential service for community wellbeing, one that builds connection, belonging and healthier communities for those who need it most,” he said.

City of Vincent Mayor Alison Xamon said free entry to the 2026 game helped make the event inclusive.

“I am delighted that once again the City of Vincent is able to support the Reclink Community Cup, which helps raise valuable funds to bring inclusive sporting events to disadvantaged communities. This year entry to the Cup will be free and I encourage all members of the community to come along with their families and enjoy a fun day down at Menzies Park.  A great day for a great cause.”

RTRFM’s General Manager Simon Miraudo not only plays in the game but is happy the station is deeply connected to it.
